ELECTION DAY
NOVEMBER 3

Youth & Families

The future of Haywood County depends on the children and families who live here today.

Families need more than good schools. They also need safe communities, affordable places to live, opportunities for recreation, and a local economy that gives young people reasons to stay after they graduate.

Technology is changing how young people learn, work, and connect with the world. At the same time, families are looking for meaningful things for their children to do close to home. Parks, recreation programs, community activities, educational opportunities, and youth organizations can all play an important role.

Haywood County already offers educational and community programs for young people, including opportunities connected to agriculture, conservation, and natural resources.

Supporting youth also means thinking about the adults they will become. Young people need opportunities to learn skills, explore careers, start businesses, and find good jobs if they choose to build their lives here.

When families have opportunities to thrive, young people are more likely to see Haywood County as a place where they can build their future.
